Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Dunning Lite. Read them before using the service. By creating an account, you accept these terms.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Dunning Lite (“the Service”), operated by Dunning Lite (“we”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, you may not use the Service.

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Service description

Dunning Lite is a dunning management tool for Stripe. It automates the sending of recovery emails when one of your customers' payments fails. The Service:

  • Connects to your Stripe account via Stripe Connect (OAuth).
  • Detects failed payment events (invoice.payment_failed) via webhooks.
  • Sends recovery emails to your customers on your behalf.
  • Provides a dashboard to monitor recovery status.

Your account

To use the Service you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You may not create an account if you are under 18 years old or if we have previously cancelled your access to the Service.

Stripe integration

To use Dunning Lite, you must authorize access to your Stripe account via Stripe Connect (OAuth). By doing so:

  • You grant us read access to billing events and customer data necessary to detect failed payments and send recovery emails.
  • Our code only reads customer data and invoices. We do not make charges, refunds, or any modifications to your Stripe account. (Stripe currently grants apps read_write scope by default; we have a support request open to enable strict read_only scope for our app.)
  • You can revoke access at any time from the Stripe dashboard (Settings → Connected applications) or from your Dunning Lite dashboard.

Your use of your Stripe account is subject to the Stripe Terms of Service. You are responsible for complying with Stripe's policies.

Pricing and payments

Dunning Lite operates under a subscription model. Current plans and pricing are available on our pricing page. Prices may change with prior notice.

Billing and refunds

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the chosen plan.
  • Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card data.
  • We do not issue refunds for partial subscription periods, except as required by law.
  • If your payment fails, we may suspend access to the Service until it is resolved.

Service limitations

No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee payment recovery. The effectiveness of dunning depends on multiple external factors outside our control, including the willingness and ability of the end customer to update their payment method. Dunning Lite is a tool that increases the probability of recovery, not a guarantee of results.

We also do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted availability of the Service (though we aim for high availability).
  • Specific recovery rates or additional revenue.
  • Compatibility with all Stripe account types or billing configurations.

Acceptable use

By using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use it to send spam or emails unrelated to legitimate payment recovery.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or parts of the Service you are not authorized to use.
  • Use the Service for illegal activities or activities that violate Stripe's Terms of Service.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Service.
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service to third parties.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its source code, design, brand, and content, is the property of Dunning Lite and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of all data from your Stripe account and your customers' data. You grant us a limited license to use that data exclusively for the purpose of providing the Service.

Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from the dashboard or by contacting us at support@dunninglite.com. Upon cancellation:

  • Your access to the Service ceases at the end of the current billing period.
  • We will revoke OAuth access to your Stripe account.
  • You may request deletion of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dunning Lite will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of revenue, data, or profits, arising from use or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months prior to the claim.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
